Ask Dr. Tseday: October 27, 2008
H.W. from Los Angeles, California asks: I’m 45 and the guy I’ve been talking to is 43. He’s very fit and so am I. We connect because we both run and it’s very much part of our lives. But there’s one thing that’s bothering me. He talks on and on about not being fat and the women he dates being thin. I gave him couple of scenarios where the woman is heavy and asked what he thought. He paused and said, “how fat are we talkin’ about… how long is she gonna be that way?” I’m thinking he’s not a good candidate for a date. Any thoughts?
Dr. Tseday responds: If his life’s focus at 43 revolves around image, he’s immature and has nothing of substance to offer. Shallow and superficial describe him well, don’t you think? Don’t bother dating this one. He’s not a good candidate.
