Ask Dr. Tseday: October 24, 2008
T.S. from Chino Hills, California writes: Hello My Friend, Where do I start? I needed to hear your voice. I start my new job in December. I move to SF in January. My cat died 3 weeks ago now. It’s hard to come home knowing she isn’t here anymore. I feel overwhelmed at times. Sometimes I just want to be alone and not talk to anyone, so I do that. It’s weird because that’s not me. I’m sure it’s just a phase. Thanks for listening.
Dr. Tseday responds: You do have a lot on your plate. A lot of new things. Life changing things. This is a “Turning Point” for you. Embrace all of them. Have faith in yourself. You will manage them all. No need to run away from all the crazy feelings that accompany them. They’ll amount to depth and meaning at the end. Sit back. Be by yourself. Sit in the quiet. Breathe. If tears and laughter come in the process, cry and laugh. You’re going through a beautiful time!
