Ask Dr. Tseday: June 5, 2009
YM from Diamond Bar, CA asks: My husband wants to put our twin boys in karate, but I disagree. I think it gives way to becoming aggressive. I’d like a resolution because we fight about it all the time. Please give me your comment, if you don’t mind.
Dr. Tseday responds: Karate is a good thing. It teaches mental and physical discipline, self-control, and it gives confidence. In fact, those in martial arts are least likely to become aggressive. I advise you to talk to parents whose children are in karate. They’ll tell you the benefit karate has brought to their children first hand.
