Ask Dr. Tseday: November 28, 2008
B.R.B. from UCLA asks: My roommate and I fight about everything around finals. Last time, our fight was fierce. She wants the music blasted when she’s studying and I want it quiet. We both want to study in our dorm. What’s the best solution? Finals are coming up.
Dr. Tseday responds: You and your roommate’s insistence about keeping your ways and your unwillingness to compromise shows your emotional and social immaturity. As college students, you should be using this period of your lives to learn how to compromise and get along. Books are important, but not as important as being able to live and get along with others. Compromise or find a way to get along. You’re capable of figuring this one out on your own.
