Ask Dr. Tseday: November 30, 2008

L.W. from New Orleans, LA asks: I’m 21. I’m working and going to school out-of-state. I’m having a hard time though. I wanted to be on my own and prove to my parents I can do it. But it’s hard. Should I tell them I want to come back home?

Dr. Tseday responds: It would be very good for you to tell your parents, not about returning home necessarily, but that you’re having a hard time. Your parents are there to help, support and guide you. Talk to them. Tell them what’s going on, what you’re thinking, feeling so they can help you get through a difficult time.
